About Us

Sparkman’s Painted Quarter Horses (SPQH) is run by Van and Sue Sparkman who along with their children Jessica and Ryan are avid promoters of Paint and Quarter Horses on the show scene.   We have been running the stud since 1991, firstly in the USA and in 2002 we moved to Australia with a job opportunity. 

SPQH is located on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, just an hour south of Melbourne and only 10 minutes from the water in either direction.   Our goal is to have a small but elite group of highly credentialed broodmares and an active successful show team for halter and under saddle.  We have produced winners of dozens of National, State and Futurity Champion in Halter and Performance.
